I am Recycled

Just a quick post to introduce you to the great concept and products of I am Recycled, a Dutch design shop. I absolutely love their (furniture) designs. The fact that it’s all handmade, recycled and unique makes it even more special!

Their website also offers a lot of inspiration for the handy people among us. It provides some great inspiration for DIYs if you have some leftovers of wood, paint or fabric. Take a look around at the next hippest shop of the season!

Knit a lamp

Maybe you’ve heard of Dutch Dilight before. They were in VTwonen last year, but they have expanded their collection with great new designs ever since!

Floor lamps, table lamps, pendant lamps… You name it, they have it all. I like the fact that all items are made out of natural materials and besides: every piece is handmade and therefore unique. I absolute love the knitted lamps, but if you think that’s too heavy, Dutch Dilight also sells nice canvas cuties!

Check out their website for some more eye candy.

Mi Lugar Favorito (2) -Thuis bij mijn ouders

This time ‘Mi lugar favorito’ is a very special one. Proudly I represent you this ‘favorite place’ : my parents house! I’ve been raised on this Dutch farm, which dates from the 17th century. It is family property since 1850 and nowadays it shows a nice mix of old farmy details,  together with more contemporary influences.

The kitchen shows: typical blue handpainted pots,  a collection of old storage cans, and the best: handmade terracotta tiles with floor heating. (Which means: always warm feet on these kitchen tiles!) Lees verder

From Germany with Love

Blue Penguin, isn’t that just a perfect name for this shiny pendant lamp? The Dutch brothers Blom & Blom give new life to old German industrial items – and they do a pretty good job. All items in their webshop tell a story and come with rich history. Blom & Blom recently lauched their new website and it is worthwhile taking a look.

Personally, I can’t wait to visit the store when I will be back in the Netherlands !
