Guest Blog : Scandinavian Looks for the Holiday Season

Hello, hello! It’s Mari here with a guest post from Arcadian Home blog. It’s a wonderful place to find interior design inspiration including great decorating ideas for everything from beautiful mini pendant lights to cozy rugs for the floor.

Today, let’s talk about the holiday season, specifically decorating with a Scandinavian look for the holidays. From the front door to the living room, dining room and kitchen it’s simply fun to go for Scandinavian style in white on white rooms. Here are seven spaces to inspire holiday decor. Please enjoy!

A traditional white Scandinavian kitchen is dressed up for the winter holidays. From delicate evergreen garlands to a lovely little candlelit tree in a galvanized bucket, this room is both beautiful and inspiring:

Scandinavian holiday style is all about natural elements, evergreen boughs, pinecones, tiny trees and often, lovely white forced bulbs:

This charming space is decorated in white and shades of gray, so it’s easy to add holiday touches—a little potted tree by the door, greenery and candles in the windows along with a three-dimensional star:

Mercury glass takes center stage in this Scandinavian living room with a little collection of candlesticks and lovely tree ornaments. Isn’t the greenery-entwined “chandelier” beautiful hanging low over the coffee table?

4 Scandinavian Holiday

A long table with white cloth is all set for a holiday dinner near the Christmas tree trimmed with simple white ornaments and lights. You’ll notice the table decor includes a collection of tiny trees:

Lots of white flowers are placed around this living room done in white with black accents. Black glass globes are interspersed with gold and white ornaments on the live tree—so pretty:

Lastly, we return to the kitchen. This space with a single element, a delicate ribbon-hung circle of greenery, illustrates how one simple touch can infuse an interior space with a sense of the holidays to come. Little lanterns serve as kitchen lights under the open shelves while candles are lit around the room:
